From a living room to a family of thousands.
Our story began in March of 1961, with a small gathering in the home of Terry and Virginia Hart. God was at work, and our first Sunday services were held on Easter Sunday, April 23, 1961, at Point Pleasant Elementary School. With the assistance of the North American Missions Board (NAMB), the current grounds were purchased in February 1962. At that time the church building consisted of a little house and a chicken coop.
Since then our FAITH family has grown and grown. In the middle of it all, we have never lost our focus on children and the rotating "next generation." In 1981, we opened the doors to our Child Development Center (CDC), which has become one of the most sought-after preschools in Anne Arundel County.
Then in the spring of 1999, we broke ground on our Family Life Center. The gym within that addition let us expand our CDC and launch our Upward Sports ministry — first-class, detailed, organized opportunities for families to be loved by Jesus.
In 2023, we began a brand-new chapter with a giant leap of faith forward: we expanded our educational program to include a new elementary school — FAITH Academy. In the summer of 2026, we cut the ribbon and dedicated a brand new stand-alone building for the school.
Over the last 30 years, we have also been planting churches in Tamil Nadu, India. God has allowed that effort to grow into more than 107 churches, two mission centers, and a child sponsorship program — with more than 7,000 people now worshiping across those locations. They are just as much our family as the people we share seats with on Sunday in Glen Burnie.
Throughout the decades, our focus on families has given us a tremendous church family of our own. We are a beautiful multi-generational church worshiping in different heart-languages, trudging through different stages of life, but finding strength in all of it together through our focus on Jesus.
We are for building healthy families.
